Additional protection is still required to fend off attacks from the pandemic virus.

The most recent results from Pfizer’s COVID-19 Booster clinical study are fantastic. With 10,000 participants, averaging over 53 years of age, the effectiveness of preventing infection is 95.6%, about the same as the original release of their COVID-19 vaccine.

The last part of the clinical trials studied the effects of giving the Booster eleven months after the second dose of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine. The study showed only five participants becoming infected with coronavirus in the control group (with the Booster) and over 100 cases of infection in the non-Booster group.

Pfizer will be providing detailed data for peer review. Subsequently, the data would be submitted to the U. S. Food and Drug Administration, the European Medicines Agency, and other regulatory agencies.

Conclusion

The safety and efficacy of the original Pfizer mRNA vaccine degrade over time. After four months, the ability to repel a viral attack went from 96% to 84%. At seven months, the protection level was below 50%.

Does this mean every six months everyone has to get a Booster to be protected? Should everyone getting a Booster be tested for naturally acquired immunity? It is possible that the fully vaccinated were infected and had no symptoms, therefore before fully protected?
