I’ve been asked more than a few times over the past couple of weeks what do I recommend in the health and wellness arena? What separates my advice from others in the same field? It’s interesting since I didn’t get that question very often over the past six months.

I am a health and wellness advocate. I am not a doctor or associated with any medical or pharmaceutical organization. I am a researcher. I explore and examine what happens in the human body at the cellular level – biochemically speaking.  I look for cause and effect relationships. If you treat a symptom, you will always treat a symptom. You must treat the cause of a problem to address it properly.

From a dietary perspective, I advocate balanced nutrition. You must ensure that you are not lacking in any nutrient the body needs on a daily basis. Vitamin K2 and Vitamin E (all eight components) are the two most difficult to obtain daily. Eliminate all grains and dairy from your daily diet choices.

Next, eat as few calories as possible to obtain your balanced nutrition. A restricted calorie diet is one that utilizes about ten calories per pound of body weight. Eat less frequently. I eat only between the hours of noon and six pm. It is called intermittent fasting. It allows the body to digest food properly and gives it a chance to recover. Take occasional longer fasts as you can. I try to do a 40+ hour fast ever week or two.

Eat foods that are alkaline (fruits and vegetables – mainly berries for the fruits). These foods will convert your body’s internal environment to be greater than your blood (pH over 7.45).

I will take each one of these dietary options and discuss them further over the next few days. Bon appetit!
