Knee pain affects your quality of life.

Osteoarthritis is the degeneration of joint cartilage and underlying bone. Typical symptoms are joint pain during or after movement, tenderness, loss of flexibility, swelling, stiffness, and more. Some of us have genes that increase our risk of osteoarthritis. Most of us experience the pain associated with osteoarthritis from injury, old-age wear out, or obesity.

Doctors ought to treat the cause of a disease, not treat symptoms. A general practitioner will prescribe acetaminophen, other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or Duloxetine (Cymbalta) to treat the pain associated with osteoarthritis. When you treat a symptom, you will always treat a symptom. You must treat the cause of a problem to correct it

Almost one in four American adults suffer from arthritis. Arthritis can be classified as osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), fibromyalgia, gout, and nearly other related diseases. Not all have the same cause or symptoms. This article will address OA only.

I have written and spoken about type II undenatured chicken collagen (UC-II) for several years. I have heard from many people that they had remarkable pain reduction and were able to resume normal exercises by incorporating UC-II into their diet.

Most of us have heard stories from our parents about how chicken soup cures most ills. It turns out that chicken breast bone prepared a certain way allows the rearrangement of the molecular structure of the chicken breast bone collagen to mimic human collagen.

Why is this important? Human collagen is hidden from our immune system. Blood flows around the joints but never comes in contact with collagen. It is the prime directive of the immune system to protect against unknown cells/molecules. Our immune system attacks collagen cells when those cells are introduced into the bloodstream by injury, wear out, or other means. The pain, swelling, and other symptoms are the result of the immune system doing its job.

UC-II mimics the molecular structure of human collagen. It comes in pill form and is available on-line. Most of our immune system is contained in our gut. Our immune system is the first line of defense against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and any other molecules it does not recognize.

The immune system moderates and accepts the UC-II molecule (hence a near replicate of human collagen) as it operates normally over a period of 90 days or longer. It finally accepts the UC-II and human collagen as normal human molecules and stops the autoimmune response. The daily attack at the joints (or other injured areas of the body) stops. Swelling goes down. Pain is reduced or stopped.

The National Institute of Health has tested UC-II and found it to be effective and safe in treating RA and OA. Many clinical trials have shown reduced joint pain, improved joint function, and quality of life.

The are many undesirable side effects of prescription drugs. 150 people die every year from taking a normal dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Almost 500 people die annually from acetaminophen poisoning. Over 50,000 people are hospitalized each year to treat reactions to acetaminophen.

Your liver is extremely susceptible to overuse and overdose of acetaminophen. Chronic alcohol consumption combined with daily acetaminophen usage can lead to liver failure and kidney damage.
Talk to your physician about incorporating UC-II into your treatment program if you have OA or RA.
